OUR DOGS NEED HELP BUT NOBODY CARES

Missouri has the outrageous distinction of being the Number One Puppy Mill Tolerating State of the Union.

Last Fall, voters thought they took care of that by passing, after much hard work,  Proposition B which was engineered to bring some much needed relief to the canine victims who are caught up in the puppy mill industry.  Hooray for us, even the Humane Society and the ASPCA took note of our accomplishment.

Now, due to the continued sellout pattern of our (supposed) representatives in D.C. and Jefferson City, a move is underfoot to overturn that law or to so seriously diminish it that its nothing but a sham.  A vote may be had this coming week on the same.

Fair warning, I am not going to be cool about it if this thing goes down and the people behind it get to continue their cruelty and turn a profit as well.  But, I decided, since he’s too much of a jackal to face me one on one and hides instead behind his “do not reply” email address, I wrote this letter which I have posted here and there and so I will post it here again because I want to and I will to and so I am.

Here’s my Open Letter to Senator Roy Blunt who wrote me to say, in essence, to hell with vote of the people, I’m running the show.  Here you go ROY:

You responded to my letter urging you to respect the will and the vote of the people of Missouri to provide relief to long-suffering dogs and puppies within the puppy mills that proliferate throughout Missouri.

Your arrogant response was that we need no further legislation since current laws are adequate.  Show me the evidence that the laws we have in place are working.

Senator Blunt, when you campaigned did you not tell people of Missouri  you would serve them faithfully?  Were your promises all lies?

Why do we teach our children it is their duty and right to vote if you demonstrate their vote will have no meaning?

It is NOT what you were elected for to act as a dictator/tyrant who doesn’t respect his “subjects”.

Proposition B became law to deal with the suffering inherently tied to Missouri’s shame as PUPPY MILL CAPITAL OF THE UNITED STATES?

WHAT KIND OF A CIVICS LESSON DO WE HAVE WHEN THE PERSON WE ELECTED ACTS IN ARROGANT DISREGARD OF THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE WHO ELECTED HIM?

WHO PAYS YOUR SALARY AND WHO DO YOU REPRESENT SENATOR BLUNT, curious minds want to know?

  2. The Missouri Legislature is one of the most inept, most corrupt, most self-serving entities I’ve had the displeasure of becoming aware of. They are misusing their position to pursue their own agendas and not the best outcome for their constituents.

As evidence – their failure to bring under control (do away with would be more to my liking or at least seriously limit the damage they do to vulnerable Missouri citizens) the Payday Loan Industry. Our elite Missouri Legislature apparently feels proud of itself for “limiting” the annual interest charged by Payday Loan Businesses, lowering it from approximately 1,900 percent per year to approximately 1,500 percent per year. Missouri Legislature allows 5-6 rollovers of these loans thus increasing the damage they do to vulnerable people. Inevitably we all pay as the borrowers, unable to make ends meet before, are now even in worse shape (though they did manage to borrow funds for their crisis, they hnow have a new long-lasting crisis). Eventually they may become homeless, be forced into bankruptcy, need public assistance/welfare/food stamps/ health care.

It’s ridiculous that our legislature has in essence thrown Missouri residents to the wolves with no protection.

SHOW ME a Missouri Legislator and I will SHOW YOU corruption.
